Kenny Miller wants to end his Scotland scoring drought tonight – and help kick-start a Euro 2012 qualifying bid.

The Rangers hitman will be reunited with former Ibrox strike partner Kris Boyd against Liechtenstein in the crucial Group I clash at Hampden.

They will be supported by the recalled James McFadden in a Scotland side that will line-up: McGregor, Hutton, Weir, McManus, Wallace, Brown, D Fletcher, McCulloch, McFadden, Boyd and Miller.

Miller has been scoring goals for fun for Rangers. After bagging an impressive 21 goals last term to help Walter Smith’s men retain the SPL title, he has already netted five times in just three games this term.

But the 30-year-old has found goals much tougher to come by on the international stage with his last competitive strike for Scotland coming some 13 games ago – back in October 2007 – in a 3-1 win over Ukraine.

He was on target during the 1-1 draw with Croatia in a friendly fixture early in 2008, but it has been a frustrating drought at international level for a player who just can’t stop scoring goals for his club.

Miller is desperately hoping he can return to the goal trail for his country against Liechtenstein as the Scots go in search of all three points.

He said: “We know it won’t be easy to score against them tonight. If people are coming to the game expecting us to win by three or four goals then they might be in for a long evening.

“Liechtenstein will be well organised and will be out to try and make life as difficult as possible. It won’t be as easy as a lot of people will think, but it goes without saying we are hoping to win the game.

“We know we have to win our home games, that is essential.

“It doesn’t really matter who scores the goals tonight just as long as we win the game first and foremost.

“But, of course, I’d love to get a goal at Hampden and end this run.

“I’ve managed to score quite a few goals for Rangers – so it would be nice to get back on the scoresheet for the national team as well.”

Miller is pleased to be linking up with former Rangers team-mate Boyd and McFadden will be encouraged to support the pair of them at every opportunity.

Miller added: “The manager has plenty of options in attack, but myself and Kris played together for two years and we have shown we can both score goals playing beside each other.

“James McFadden also likes to think of himself as a front-man, although he regularly plays out wide, but he can score goals and create something special at times so hopefully everything goes well and we can get the goals required for three points.”
