FORMER Celtic striker Derek Riordan could be set for a shock switch to La Liga after being handed a trial with an unnamed Spanish top-flight team.
Riordan is also reportedly attracting the interest of three npower Championship clubs as well as a League One side.
The 29-year-old has struggled to find regular first-team football since leaving Parkhead and had an ill-fated spell in China with Shaanxi Chan-Ba.
Riordan is a free agent after leaving St Johnstone in May.
He is now expected to head to Spain in a bid to win a deal that could see him come up against the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in domestic action next season.
