Mexican legend Hugo Sanchez has applied for the Kilmarnock job.
Sanchez won five successive La Liga titles with Real Madrid in the Nineties as well as the Uefa Cup in 1986.
He also won two Mexican titles before managing the national side between 2006 and 2008.
Sanchez left Almeria in December 2009.
