Fans still looking for Green answers

A UNEASY truce seemed to be struck by Rangers supporters and Charles Green after a meeting at Ibrox.

Representatives of the Rangers Fans Fighting Fund met the leader of the consortium trying to buy the club for three hours yesterday.

The RFFF went in seeking confirmation that Green's consortium has the money available to fund the £8.5m purchase – which is dependent on achieving a CVA with creditors – and more detail on the investors.

They were prepared to advise fans to buy season tickets if the information was forthcoming.

However, they fell short of that backing, although the two sides did describe the meeting as a success with both emphasising the need to recognise "that a successful outcome to the CVA proposal is extremely important for the club".

It is understood that Green may have drawn the funds together through investors in Manchester, and he suggested that £10m has been raised.

"Mr Green is fully aware of the issues we are concerned with, but we made good progress in discussions," said the RFFF statement. "The main thing is getting the CVA approved. Once that happens, fans will see that as a major milestone."

Green said: "Supporters are wary given the recent past at Ibrox, but I will continue to have dialogue with the fans and inform them every step of the way."
