Hardie on trial as Ton wilt under Rapid fire

MORTON have taken former Dunfermline and Partick Thistle midfielder Martin Hardie on trial.

The 36-year-old is without a club after leaving the Pars in the summer and played the first half of the Ton's 5-2 friendly defeat to Rapid Bucharest yesterday.

Ex-Hamilton Accies star Simon Mensing also played, with the goals coming from Peter Weatherson (penalty) and Archie Campbell.

Boss Allan Moore is also close to agreeing a deal with Dumbarton defender Tony Wallace as his rebuilding job continues.
