Morton were left furious after their match with Ross County was called off last Tuesday less than half-an-hour before kick off, meaning their journey up the A9 was rendered pointless for the second time this season.
Now it's the Bully Wee's turn to head north and they will set off for Borough Briggs for their Irn-Bru Third Division clash this afternoon.
But Duffy reckons postponed fixtures such as this one should be played later in the year to avoid wasted journeys for players and fans.
He said: "I think that would be common sense. We were due to play Elgin on a Saturday and it was postponed, so why not play it towards the end of March or the start of April?
"Then there is less chance of the weather playing a part and the pitches are normally a bit better as well.
"For me, I think it is common sense not to play midweek games at this time of year if we can avoid it.
"The weather can play a part, even if the games are on, because you have to play in the wind and rain and the pitches are heavy.
"If we can play later in the year then why don't we? I don't see why we can't, and can't think of any reasons against that.
"The argument might be that squads would be stretched and suspensions come into play but, for me, I would rather see them played later in the year."
