Izaguirre is ready to blast back

CELTIC defender Emilio Izaguirre today admitted he can't wait to get going and banish the nightmare of last season.

The Honduran broke an ankle at Pittodrie in the opening month of the campaign and never quite found his feet as Celtic lifted the title, even after he was back to full fitness.

Izaguirre is back in Central America as he prepares for a World Cup qualifier against Panama.

He will have a short break before returning to Celtic where he hopes to recapture the form that won him the Player of the Year award in his first season with the club.

"The season was a disappointment personally," he said. "It was a very complicated time for me.

"I suffered my injury and tried to come back too soon because I was eager to get back playing. I had to work extra hard to get back to the level I was at before.

"Everyone has clear objectives for the season and mine had to be delayed because of my injury and that frustrated me.

"But I feel I am back to full fitness and cannot wait to play."
