POLLOK beat Auchinleck Talbot 3-2 after a dramatic penalty-shoot out at Newlandsfield Park to clinch a place in the Evening Times Champions' Cup final.

Tony McInally's side drew 2-2 with Tommy Sloan's men over the regulation 90 minutes, but the West Region Super First champions held their nerve to set up a home clash with Blantyre Vics this Saturday (2pm).

It was 10-man Talbot - winners of the competition for the last two seasons - who took the lead in the 16th minute through Dwayne Hislop, who had also opened the scoring as Sloan's side beat Musselburgh Athletic 2-1 to win the Scottish Junior Cup last Sunday.

The scoreline stayed that way until Tam Hanlon levelled for the home side in the 59th minute.

The visitors were then reduced to 10 men when Derek McCulloch was red-carded, and Lok capitalised when Robbie Winters scored a minute later to give his side a 2-1 advantage.

Auchinleck were then given a chance to level when they were awarded a penalty kick in the 65th minute, but Gordon Pope - who scored the winner from the spot against Musselburgh at Rugby Park - saw his kick saved.

But, just four minutes later, Graham Wilson levelled at 2-2, his strike taking the game into that dramatic finale.
