But Tommy Sloan's men will be favourites to progress to the quarter-finals when they travel to Fife in two week's time.
The plum tie of the round will see Pollok head east to take on East Premier leaders Bonnyrigg Rose.
Darvel have emerged as the competitions's surprise package so far and they will take on managerless Darvel at home after putting Troon to the sword in the fourth round.
The pairing comes just days after Robert Downs quit the Barrhead hotseat.
The only Northern side left in the competition, Hermes, will host Kilbirnie Ladeside - if they can get get past Glenrothes in their fourth round replay.
