THERE is good news at last for Blantyre Vics midfielder Stuart Mills after his first Senior club Hamilton Accies agreed to play in a benefit match for him at New Douglas Park on May 7/8 against the newly-crowned Central Second Division champions.
The 23-year-old has been advised to quit playing by doctors after shattering his knee cap in a game against Forth last month.
Vics boss David Greig said: "It's a marvellous gesture from Hamilton and well deserved as Stuart is a great lad who is well liked."
Meanwhile, confirmation that Rugby Park will host this season's Scottish Junior Cup final at the later date of Sunday June 1 (kick-off 4.05pm) is sure to be well received by Hurlford United's stalwart defender Neil McGregor.
He is facing a race against the clock to be deemed fit for the showpiece after pulling his hamstring during last Saturday's semi-final victory against Irvine Meadow.
