AUCHINLECK TALBOT striker David Gormley is relishing the Dyslexia Scotland Junior Cup semi-final double-header against holders Hurlford United next month.

Tommy Sloan's 10-times winners will face Darren Henderson's side at Blair Park on the weekend of April 11/12, with the return at Beechwood Park on the weekend of April 18/19.

Gormley, scorer of the winning goal when the Ayrshiremen overcame Linlithgow 1-0 in the 2013 final, said: "Our dressing room was not over-concerned about who would come out of the hat as our semi-final opponent, but I'm willing to bet the other sides desperately wanted to avoid us.

"Local rivalries alone dictate Hurlford will be extremely difficult to beat, and no doubt they will be extra motivated as holders. However, Talbot are the only team to have retained the trophy in over 40 years and we would like things to stay that way.

"There will be little to choose between us over the two legs, but having the second game at Beechwood might work in our favour."

The ties kick off at 2.30pm.
