The sharp exit from Newlandsfield that had looked on the cards for striker Richie Barr has failed to materialise after work commitments prevented the Lok hitman from putting pen to paper for Irvine Meadow.

Arrangements were in place for the 31-year-old and Ayrshire officials to complete signing formalities prior to Tuesday's transfer deadline.

But Barr was unable to get to the meeting and therefore remains on the books of the Southsiders. However, he is unlikely to play again this season after submitting a transfer request 11 days ago that was granted by gaffer Tony McInally.
