KILMARNOCK will begin their defence of the Scottish Communities League Cup against Stenhousemuir tomorrow night full of confidence after their 3-1 win over Dundee United at Rugby Park.
It was Killie's first victory of the season, with boss Kenny Shiels delighted that Rory McKenzie, Borja Perez and Jude Winchester all bagged their first goals.
Gary Harkins suffered an early injury to his face and Paul Heffernan's continuing absence has left Kilmarnock short of experience in attacking positions.
Shiels said: "You can't put a lot of weight on young Rory's shoulders week in, week out.
"I'm still looking for an experienced player to support them, but we can't get near the ones I've looked at in terms of finance."
