Kirk's not Hungary

RANGERS defender Kirk Broadfoot has turned down the chance to join Debrecen.

The Ibrox star has a clause in his contract that could see him leave the club for free this summer after accepting a massive pay cut when the Gers were plunged into administration in February, with the Hungarians keen to lure him away from Glasgow with the chance to play in the Champions League.

While the 27-year-old has rejected the European move, his future remains in doubt as a number of Gers stars consider whether to remain at the club.

Meanwhile, Rangers have confirmed a pre-season trip to Germany with three games against local sides.

Ally McCoist's men will kick off against Bundesliga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig on Friday, July 20.

A second game against an as-yet unannounced opponent will take place on either July 22 or 23. The final match will be on Wednesday, July 25 against Armenia Bielefeld.

The Gers will also play in the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup on July 14 against Southampton and Arsenal.
