Lewis Hamilton faces the heat of Singapore this weekend with his future still the burning subject of speculation.

It is believed talks have taken place since Hamilton's win in the Italian Grand Prix.

But there has been no resolution as the driver continues to mull over the biggest decision of his Formula One career.

He can either stay with McLaren – a team that has taken care of him since he was 13 – or switch to Mercedes in the hope they will become a powerhouse when new engine regulations kick in from 2014.

Hamilton said: "We're inching closer to the finishing line," looking ahead to seven long-haul races in the space of 10 weeks.

"After winning the last three races of the European season, the team starts the long haul around the world for the final series. Having won in Hungary and Monza, I am full of positivity and optimism."
