Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard will be out for at least a month with an ankle injury.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that the 27-year-old Dane has suffered ligament damage and will be "at least four weeks, maybe five or six" on the sidelines.

Lindegaard's injury means David De Gea is likely to be in goal for United for the game at Chelsea on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs believes United's testing month of fixtures can set them up for yet another Barclays Premier League crown.

Following the trip to Chelsea, the Reds must tackle Liverpool and Tottenham, with a visit to Norwich – who have lost just three times at Carrow Road this season – in between.

After the Old Trafford outfit moved level on points at the summit with Manchester City by beating Stoke on Tuesday night, veteran Giggs spoke of the value that can be gained from beating major rivals.

"We are not quite at the make-or-break part of the season, but it is an important time, and we know that if we win those games, then we'll be in good shape," he said.
