MORTON boss Allan Moore is targeting 'four or five' more signings as he attempts to overhaul his squad.

The Cappielow gaffer has already completed several deals during the close season after making massive cuts to his team at the end of a frustrating campaign last time out.

He saw his Morton side go down 5-2 to Romanian giants Rapid Bucuresti in a bounce match earlier this week as he ran the rule over a handful of trialists.

Scott Taggart, Simon Mensing, Tony Wallace, Kyle Wilkie, Ross Forbes, Ewan McNeil and Spanish defender Polako all turned out for the Ton in the Grangemouth clash, with strike duo Archie Campbell and Peter Weatherson on target for the Greenock side.

There is now just three weeks to go before the new campaign kicks off when Morton face Albion Rovers in the first round of the Ramsdens Cup and Moore is keen to add depth to his threadbare squad.

The Ton boss said: "Scott Taggart, who was at Hibs and finished the season at Stranraer played against Rapid, as did Ewan McNeil, who was with Rangers.

"Simon Mensing came in and helped us out defensively because we didn't want to rush Mark McLaughlin. We had a Spanish boy, Polako, over and it was a difficult game for him to play in because they were a quality side.

"It is hard to judge when you are playing that kind of opposition. We will have another look at them. We are looking for a right-back and two centre-halves. That is the priority at the moment."
