A TEAM of Celtic coaches led by former player John Kennedy has arrived in the Reunion Islands in a bid to unearth a new star for the Parkhead club.

Kennedy and his Hoops colleagues touched down in Reunion yesterday at the start of a week-long training stint at Didier Agathe's soccer school.

The Frenchman, a much-loved player in the great Martin O'Neill team of the early 2000s, set up the school after retiring from professional football five years ago.

He sold three of players, Heeking Jerome, Mathis Yohan and Jeremy Judith, to Stirling Albion back at the start of the 2010/11 campaign.

And two of his current brightest talents, Hoareareu and Dijoux, are set travel to Glasgow next month for a trial with the Scottish champions.

Now Kennedy will try to identify more potential players for the Parkhead club.

Agathe said: "I hope to be able to build a bridge between the academy and Celtic and come over with players for the club.

"I spent the best years of my career with Celtic and now I want to try and give something back to the club by finding kids good enough to play for them.

"John Kennedy, who was, along with Shaun Maloney and Aiden McGeady, one of the good young players coming through when I was at Celtic, will have a look at our kids."
