LUIS SUAREZ came off the bench last night to make his first appearance for Barcelona in a 6-0 win over Leon in a friendly at the Nou Camp.

Before the match the Uruguay striker ran out to great applause as he was finally unveiled as a Barca player 31 days after signing for £75million.

Suarez, 27, had been cleared to make his debut in the friendly by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, despite currently serving a four-month ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup.

He is not permitted to take part in a competitive match until October 26, when Barcelona face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

However, the sanctions were relaxed to allow the ex-Liverpool star to take part in friendly games, training, promotional and administrative activities.

Barcelona dominated the match and were four ahead thanks to two goals from Neymar and strikes by Lionel Messi and El Haddadi before Suarez came on after 77 minutes.

He replaced Rafina to a huge ovation. Moments later Barca added another goal against the Mexicans - a second for El Haddadi.

Sandro got their sixth goal in the 90th minute.
