Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, his assistant Rui Faria and midfielder Ramires have been charged by the Football Association for their actions in last Saturday's loss to Sunderland.

The Black Cats won 2-1, ending Chelsea's 77-match unbeaten home Premier League run.

In an interview after the game Mourinho made sarcastic remarks about the officials. He "congratulated" both referee Mike Dean for his performance - which he described as "unbelievable" - and Mike Riley, head of refereeing body Professional Game Match Officials Limited.

The FA allege his comments call into question the integrity of Dean and/or Riley and/or bring the game into disrepute.

Faria was charged with two counts of misconduct.

The FA claim he used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official (Phil Dowd). It is also said his behaviour following the referee's request that he leave the technical area amounted to improper conduct.

Ramires was charged following an off-the-ball incident with Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson. It was missed by match officials at the time but was reviewed by a panel of former referees.

He now faces a retrospective punishment which could prematurely end his domestic season.

The Brazilian, who has been sent off twice this season, was playing only his second match following a three-game ban for a red card at Aston Villa.

Mourinho was fined £8000 for improper conduct at the same game. He was also fined £8000 after his dismissal against Cardiff in October.
