CHRIS MARTIN has vowed to learn from his Auld Enemy baptism of fire after a frustrating night in the Scotland attack.

The Derby striker replaced Steven Fletcher in Gordon Strachan's starting line-up for the clash with England last night but struggled to assert himself on the big stage.

Martin was hooked at the break as the Dark Blues went on to lose 3-1 at Celtic Park, with Andrew Robertson's late effort proving a mere consolation for the Tartan Army.

Martin said: "It was a tough 45 minutes individually and as a team and we struggled a bit. I didn't get a hold of the ball and I need to learn from it. It is my first taste of starting at this level against a very good side. England have some very good players.

"I am disappointed. I think that is one of the worst games I have played for a long time.

"But these things happen and there is not much I can do about it now.

"I need to review it and see where I went wrong, and I think that is the same for the whole team.

"We have come a long way to this point as a country and we have still got a lot to learn and improve on.

"I don't want to be remembered for that game. Hopefully I get another chance to prove I am better than that."
