CHAMPIONS Glasgow City continued their fine form with a 9-0 demolition of Spartans.

Following their midweek victory over Standard Liege which set up a Champions League last 16 clash with Arsenal, City showed no mercy to the side sitting third top of the SWPL table, with Christie Murray grabbing a hat-trick.

Also on target for Eddie Wolecki Black's side were Jo Love (2), Denise O'Sullivan, Ruesha Littlejohn, Suzanne Mulvey and Lisa Robertson.

Black said: "I asked the girls for a big performance in the penultimate game of the league season and they delivered. It was especially pleasing seeing the goals shared out again.

"We now head for the international break, but look forward to welcoming Aberdeen to Petershill on November 3."

City have seven players in the Scotland squad to face Northern Ireland this Saturday at Fir Park - Suzanne Lappin, Rachel Corsie, Eilish McSorley, Jo Love, Leanne Crichton, Mulvey and Leanne Ross. Jess Fishlock will join up with the Welsh squad to captain her side against England on the same day and Julie Nelson will face her club mates as she represents Northern Ireland.

O'Sullivan and Littlejohn are both in the Republic of Ireland squad to face Slovenia on October 30.

Rangers beat Aberdeen 3-0 with Lisa Swanson, Natalie Ross and Erin Cuthbert on target, while Fiona Brown and Chloe Arthur scored for Celtic in a 2-1 win over Hibs.
