GRAEME SOUNESS believes the Tartan Army can dare to dream of qualifying for a major tournament for the first time since 1998 - provided they can unearth a goal mine.

"We're entitled to start believing," said the Sky Sports pundit. "We have got a group of players with no obvious stars in there but I think collectively they are a hard outfit to break down.

"We are organised, we are a hard team to break down but we need someone who can grab goals from nothing.

"You can't always be playing well to win football matches. If you have a goalscorer you can play badly and nick games and that is what I would like us to do."

In Glasgow to promote website 666bet.com, Souness also believes that Scotland can be satisfied that they remain in charge of their own destiny as things tighten within the group.

"This game doesn't decide anything but it is double edged," he said. "You're looking to damage them as much as get three points.

"Them winning in Georgia isn't a great result for us, them getting a draw against Germany isn't a great result, but our destiny is still in our hands and when you are in a qualification group that is as much as you can ask for. "
