BARRY FERGUSON reckons a burning desire to succeed is at the heart of Clyde's recent upturn in form.

The Bully Wee have recorded back-to-back wins in League Two and are now just five points adrift of the fourth tier play-off zone.

After seeing off Montrose and Annan in recent days, and keeping clean sheets in both games as they recorded 2-0 and 1-0 wins respectively, the clash with East Stirlingshire this weekend is next on the Broadwood agenda.

Boss Ferguson overhauled his squad during the January transfer window, with the experience of Mark McLaughlin, Hugh Murray and Keigan Parker making a significant difference to the side.

And the Cumbernauld gaffer is pleased to see his side being able to dig deep as well as show their talent on the ball.

He said: "It was important to get the three points on Tuesday. That was more like what I am trying to get at.

"I am still a bit short of where I want to get to, but the difference in the players that I have signed and what they have brought to the club compared to what was here before is night and day.

"They are a group that are solid and stick together and you can see that on the pitch.

"I have got real people now, I have got proper guys.

"We have got two sides to us. When it is a battle, we will battle but when we want to get the ball down and play, we can certainly do that.

"That is what I like about it. We have got a nasty streak about us, and that is what every team needs.

"That is down the players that I have brought in. They have made a helluva difference.

"The boys at the club weren't motivated. The guys that are here and the guys that were already here that I kept, they are motivated."
