FORMER St Mirren boss Danny Lennon is set to be unveiled as the new manager of Alloa today.
The 46-year-old left Paisley at the end of last season after maintaining the Buddies' place in the Premiership as he was replaced by assistant manager Tommy Craig.
He is now poised to take the reigns at the Indodrill Stadium and will be presented to the media this afternoon.
Alloa have been without a permanent manager since the departure of Barry Smith last month and have been under the control of Paddy Connolly in recent weeks.
The Wasps are currently ninth the Championship standings and Lennon has just five games to save them from the drop as they look to overhaul fellow part-timers Cowdenbeath and avoid a play-off place this term.
Last month, Lennon took charge of the Scotland Under-21 side for a friendly against Hungary and guided the Dark Blues to a 2-1 win.
But he is now poised to clinch his return to an SPFL dugout after winning the race to be the new Alloa boss.
The Wasps travel to Tynecastle to face champions Hearts tomorrow night before hosting Dumbarton on Saturday as they look to secure their place in the Championship for another season.
