IAN MURRAY is set to become the new manager of St Mirren.
A statement on the Dumbarton website confirmed that Murray will leave the part-timers to become Gary Teale's successor at the recently-relegated Paisley club. Murray, the former Hibs and Rangers midfielder, has been at the Rock since November 2012, leading them to successive mid-table finishes.
The Dumbarton statement reads: "Ian Murray leaves role as Sons manager to join newly relegated St Mirren. Murray accepted the position at the Paisley club following a recent interview process and will be officially unveiled at St Mirren Park later today. Further comment to follow."
