RANGERS have had many great foreign players in their ranks over the years, but there were a lot fewer playing in Scottish football in the Sixties and Seventies than there are today...

BILLY (Bridgeton) - I know that when Celtic won the European Cup in 1967 the whole of their team were Scottish, but were all of the Rangers team that won the European-Cup Winners' Cup in 1972 Scottish?

The whole of the team that played Moscow Dynamo in Barcelona that night were Scottish, but Rangers did have German goalkeeper Gerry Neef - who sadly died in 2010 - on the substitutes' bench.

JIM (Baillieston) - How many caps did Jimmy Johnstone win for Scotland and how many goals did he score for his country?

The Celtic legend played 23 times for Scotland and scored four times. His first cap was on October 3, 1964, in a 3-2 defeat by Wales and his final cap was on November 20, 1974, in a defeat by Spain at Hampden Park.

His first goals for Scotland were a double against England on April 2, 1966, at Hampden Park. He also scored against West Germany and Belgium. In total, he played 515 matches for Celtic.

JACK (Giffnock) - Scotland are bidding to host Euro 2020 Finals matches, but can you tell me how many European finals have been played at Hampden Park?

There have been six European finals at Hampden.

In 1960, Real Madrid beat Eintracht Frankfurt 7-3 in that famous final of the European Cup.

The other Madrid team, Atletico, played Fiorentina in the European Cup-Winners' Cup final in 1962. The game ended in a 1-1 draw and a replay took place in Germany, where Atletico triumphed 3-0.

In 1966, we saw Liverpool take on Borussia Dortmund in the European Cup-Winners' Cup final, but despite four Scots in their team and managed by Bill Shankly, they lost 2-1 after extra time.

Ten years later, St Etienne lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the European Cup Final.

In 2002, Real Madrid returned to beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-1 in the Champions League final when Zinedine Zidane scored that fantastic volley.

The last final was the Uefa Cup final in 2007 between two Spanish clubs, Sevilla and Espanyol.

Sevilla won the trophy 3-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Almost 360,000 fans watched those Hampden finals.
