STEWART REGAN admits the Scottish FA still have work to do to engage better with supporters and clubs in Scotland.

The chief executive has overseen major changes inside the corridors of power at Hampden in recent years.

And he has hailed some of the early impacts of the governing bodies' 2020 vision scheme.

Regan said: "It has been a really interesting three or four years. Looking back, probably the highlights have been the approval, in 2011, of the governance changes, with unanimous support from our members, to overhaul the old board and committee structure that existed within the old Scottish FA.

"We have now had a number of years of the judicial panel system coming into place to deal much more speedily and in a more transparent way with disciplinary matters.

"Challenges, well we have still got to work harder to build stronger relationships with the fans. We have got to work harder to build stronger relationships with our own clubs.

"And try to and make some of our initiatives, particularly our academy project pay dividends and build confidence that we are heading in the right direction."

Meanwhile, Scotland will start in Division C when the Uefa Nations League kicks off in 2018.

The competition will replace friendly matches and Regan said: "We will have a chance of promotion and relegation into a higher division.

"We will have the chance of direct qualification into the final event of both the European [Championships] and the World Cup."
