BOOKIES have made Scotland the longest odds in their history to win a game when they face World Cup winners Germany in Dortmund on Sunday.
Gordon Strachan's side face a Herculean task in their opening European Championship qualifier against the men who swept aside Brazil and Argentina to lift the trophy in South America this summer.
Scottish firm McBookie.com have made Scotland 16/1 to stun the World Champions and get the three points.
And for the more ambitious Scottish punter, they are a remarkable 50/1 to grab a 1-0 win ... which is exactly what happened in 1999 when Craig Brown's Scots defeated the Germans in Bremen thanks to a Don Hutchison goal.
McBookie.com spokesman Paul Petrie said: "This is the longest odds Scotland have ever been to win a game.
"It's bigger even than when Scotland played Spain a couple of years ago and they were World Cup and European Championship holders.
"But with the way Gordon Strachan has got Scotland playing, I'm sure we will see plenty of money for a famous Scottish victory."
Germany are just 2/15 to win on Sunday. A 2-0 Scotland success is 110/1!
