Chris Smalling says Manchester United's tough start to the Barclay's Premier League campaign could work to their advantage.
The England defender reckons positive results will put the Red Devils' challengers under pressure.
He said: "If we put on some good performances and pick up a few points, it's going to give us a big boost."
United start their title defence tonight at Swansea before matches against Chelsea, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Manchester City. It's a run of games that concerned new boss David Moyes, who called it the club's toughest start for 20 years.
He contacted league officials about it and was told the schedule was worked out at random.
United need to take a positive attitude to Swansea, where they have been given two tough examinations since the South Wales outfit returned to the top flight.
