GORDON STRACHAN admits he is more concerned with how Scotland perform against Nigeria tonight than who replaces Neil Lennon as Celtic manager.

Even the plight of his first-love, Hibs, is being put on the back-burner by the national team manager.

His focus is on recording another victory in the final game ahead of September's opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Germany.

And, while he politely answered questions about Celtic and Hibs, he did so without the kind of detail and humour normally associated with the 57-year-old.

Strachan has been a strong figure in the background during Lennon's managerial career, and the man who vacated the hot-seat in 2009 said: "We just have to respect his decision.

"I am sure I will bump into Neil over the next couple of months and have a chat.

"I am not responsible for picking the next manager.

"It is different managers at different times, and you need different things at different stages of a club's history.

"Mine was different from what it is now. I will leave it up to better people to tell you what is needed at Celtic Football Club."

On Hibs' relegation, he was even more succinct, and said: "It's going to be fun in the Championship, with Rangers, Hibs and Hearts there, that's for sure."

Strachan was disappointed that the second training session he planned for his Scotland players yesterday was called off due to underfoot conditions.

But he is still confident his players have done enough to be ready to face the Flying Eagles.

Strachan said: "I like their enthusiasm and it rubs off on me. We have been working on getting more people in the box so that our main striker is not isolated."

The Scotland manager added: "Nigeria are strong, with talented players and will be a test for us. But we will be a test for them."

Strachan will decide today whether to give Chris Martin his first cap after the striker's disappointment at losing the play off final with Derby at the weekend.
