Andy Murray will be back on court at the Rogers Cup on Wednesday after his second-round match with Tommy Robredo was suspended due to rain.
At 4-4 and 40-30 on the Scot's serve, play was abandoned on Tuesday evening in Montreal.
It means second seed Murray, who will replace Roger Federer as world number two if he reaches the final in Canada, could face a compacted schedule as he is also competing in the men's doubles alongside Leander Paes.
The two-time grand slam champion started well against his Spanish opponent, taking his fourth break point in the fourth game of the opening set.
However, Robredo won three games on the spin to level matters before the heavens opened, much to the former world number five's chagrin.
The pair will be back out on Court Central on Wednesday afternoon after Kei Nishikori's last-32 clash with Pablo Andujar and Rafael Nadal's encounter against Sergiy Stakhovsky.
