The Glasgow Rocks have confirmed the signing of 6’3” American shooting guard, Warren Gillis, for the 2015/16 season.

Gillis, from Philadelphia, will be brought in to strengthen the back court for the Rocks.

He comes to Glasgow off the back of a successful career at Coastal Carolina where he averaged 13.4 points, 3.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds during his final season.

He is ranked 10th all-time in scoring on the Coastal Carolina career list, and tied for 1st in free throws with an 84% percentage.

Gillis led his team to back-to-back conference championships and was awarded the MVP during the 2014 Big South Tournament.

Coach Sterling Davis is hoping that his winning mindset can assist the Rocks this season.

He said: “Warren comes from a winning situation at Coastal Carolina where they won back to back conference tournaments.

"My hope is that he can bring that winning mindset to our team and propel us to something great this season.

"He is very crafty with the ball and a great passer off the dribble.

"He comes from an American football background so he will have that grittiness that we need.”

Gillis is due to arrive in Glasgow later this month as pre-season preparations officially commence.
