ARGENTINE ace Coty Garcia hailed Glasgow's team spirit after they produced a stunning finish to steal all the points from Berwick Bandits today.

The Tigers raced to three 5-1s in the last three heats to win 49-41 after being eight points down early in the meeting.

It makes Glasgow favourites to go on and win their League Cup section after the Bandits lost at home to Edinburgh on Saturday, with the Monarchs already having lost two of their four meetings before that stage.

Taking something from either one of their away meetings should see Glasgow through into the semi-finals.

Garcia and co. had to step up to the plate after Richie Worrall crashed out of the match in only his second ride, but thanks to paid 12 from him - as well as inspired performances from guest Ricky Wells and captain Aaron Summers - they got three points and prevented the Bandits from leaving with a consolation point.

The Tigers reserve - who was named man of the match - said: "It was a good meeting for all the team. It was quite hard at the beginning because it wasn't like everyone expected - it was quite tricky. It looked quite grippy but it was slick, so we lost the home advantage.

"But we came strong after Richie Worrall's crash and every single rider was going hard. We wanted to change the situation. It was really good to work with the guys.

"I'm definitely pleased with my score. This shows why I'm here and what I can do - which is just trying hard and getting better every time. Thanks go to Aaron today, he helped me a lot, whether it was his race or not. It was really good."

It was an incident-packed affair at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium with Bandits reserve Matthew Wethers also withdrawn following his involvement in the Worrall crash.

Afterwards, Worrall said that he was "very sore" around his ribs and lower back, but didn't believe anything was broken and vowed to be back on track after a few days' rest.

Danny Ayres and Nike Lunna were also on the deck for the home team - as well as visitor Liam Carr - although all seemed to escaped uninjured.

Glasgow now have two wins from two at home - and next travel to Berwick on Saturday, when they'll hope to have No 1 Richard Lawson back following his bout of flu. Friday's postponed away meeting at Edinburgh is still to be rescheduled.

Next Sunday, Redcar Bears visit as the Tigers get their Premier League campaign under way.

Tigers scorers: Ricky Wells 11+2, Aaron Summers 11+1, Coty Garcia 9+3, Ben Barker 8, Danny Ayres 4, Nike Lunna 3+1, Richie Worrall 3 (withdrawn).
