GREAT BRITAIN have been drawn to face Canada to start off their 2017 Davis Cup bid.
Led by Leon Smith and inspired by Andy Murray, the Brits defeated Belgium last time out to win the trophy for the first time since 1936.
This year their attempt to defend their crown ended at the weekend at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, with Argentina winning 3-2 in a dramatic semi-final.
While Juan Martin del Potro and his team-mates look forward to a final with Croatia in November, Smith can now begin his work for next year.
In a draw in London this afternoon, Britain were chosen to be away for the tie against that may include Frank Dancevic, Vasek Pospisil, Adil Shamasdin and Denis Shapovalov, the side that Hammered Chile earlier this month
The first round of the World Group section will take place on the weekend of February 3-5.
FULL DRAW:
Argentina v Italy
Germany v Belgium
Australia v Czech Republic
USA v Switzerland
Japan v France
Canada v Great Britain
Serbia v Russia
Croatia v Spain
