The Tigers bid to get their trophy tilt on track again at Sheffield on Thursday.

The Ashfield men head south still smarting from the 48-42 defeat to Somerset in the League Cup final first leg.

This time they're bidding to book their place in the final of the Premier League Championship play-offs, and face the Yorkshire Tigers over two legs tomorrow and Sunday.

Lawson, 30, admits Glasgow felt the pressure on Sunday but are ready to get up and fight again at Owlerton before the League Cup final second leg on Friday night.

He said: "Some of the guys were frustrated on Sunday, but you know, maybe a few of them were under a bit of pressure.

"We wanted to win so badly and sometimes that pressure overcomes you. I'm sure the guys who struggled are beating themselves up.

"But if we all ride to our capabilities we're good over two legs. I'll keep telling the boys that and reminding them of it.

"There’s no reason why we can’t bounce back from this at Sheffield and hopefully take some good points there and carry that momentum into Friday.

"We will go there as determined as ever and it's time to bounce back. This is what we’ve ridden all year for, so we can’t do anything stupid now.

"Aaron [Summers] has still been feeling the effects of his illness so another few days’ rest for him will help, and Nike [Lunna] has still been in a wee bit of pain too - we’ll be fitter this week and we’ve got all seven riders, so it’s all in our favour."

Sheffield go into the fixture with a patchwork team which includes Workington's Ricky Wells guesting at No 1 and Scunthorpe's Josh Auty filling in at No 2, while they employ rider replacement for reigning Premier League Riders' Champion Simon Stead at No 4.

The tie has added spice as it will see Rene Bach and Josh Bates go head-to-head again following their set-to while Bates was guesting for Somerset on Sunday.
