GARY ANDERSON will begin the defence of his World Darts Championship crown against Mark Frost next month.

The Flying Scotsman lifted the title for the first time two years ago with a thrilling 7-6 win over Phil Taylor at the Alexandra Palace.

Anderson made it two from two by overcoming Adrian Lewis 12 months ago and he will now bid for a hat-trick in London as he gets set to do battle with a top class field once again.

His first task will be to see off qualifier Frost – nicknamed ‘Frosty the Throw Man’ – after he booked his spot in the field by winning the PDPA Qualifier on Monday.

Anderson is one of four Scots who will head to the Capital for the 15 day event and will be seeded second behind 8/11 pre-tournament favourite Michael van Gerwen, who will begin his bid for glory against Ross Snook or Kim Viljanen.

Peter Wright, who lost in the final to MVG in 2014, will look to continue his fine form this season when he kicks-off against Jerry Hendriks or Warren Parry, while Robert Thornton will face the winner of the preliminary clash between Zoran Lerchbacher and Simon Stevenson.

The final Scot in the field is John ‘The Highlander’ Henderson and he has been drawn against Englishman Andrew Gilding.

Elsewhere, Taylor will begin his bid for a 15th world crown against John Bowles or David Platt, while Raymond van Barneveld takes on PDC debutant Robbie Green.

Number six seed James Wade faces Ronny Huybrechts, while Dave Chisnall will meet Rowby-John Rodriguez and Mensur Suljovic lines up against Ron Meulenkamp.
