Tiger Woods has beefed up his early season schedule with four events in the space of a month as the former world No 1’s golfing comeback moves through the gears.

The 41-year-old, who made a tentative return to competitive action in his own Hero World Challenge at the tail end of 2016 after 15 months on the sidelines, has added February’s Dubai Desert Classic to a diary which also includes appearances in the Farmers Insurance Open, the Genesis Open and the Honda Classic.

The Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, an event Woods has won seven times, will be his first outing of 2017 while the addition of the Dubai event on the European Tour will see the 14-time major winner return to another of his happy hunting grounds.

Woods has won the Desert Classic twice and is 92-under-par for the 28 rounds he has played over the Majlis course since making his debut in the tournament back in 2001.
