SIX Scots have been named in the squad that will represent Great Britain at the 2017 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Los Angeles next month.

Alison Patrick, a para-triathlon silver medallist at the 2016 Paralympic Games and two-time world champion, is set to make her debut for the GB cycling team.

Hazel Macleod, who was Patrick’s pilot in Rio last summer, is also in the side.

Neil Fachie, a 10-time world champion, will reunite with Craig MacLean, a pairing that won double gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Aileen McGlynn will ride for Great Britain for the first time since 2012 alongside pilot Louise Haston. The duo claimed two silver medals for Team Scotland at Glasgow 2014.

This year’s world championships, which take place from March 2-5, also serve as the qualification event for the tandem events for visually impaired riders at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
