BRAEHEAD CLAN have been dealt a blow ahead of their EIHL clash against Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday with the news that Tyler Scofield has been ruled out through injury. This is to add to the long-term injuries of Ryan Potulny and Tyler Shattock, with Scofield anticipated to be on the sidelines for two to three weeks.

The 33-year-old Canadian got hit by a puck over the weekend which resulted in him picking up a lower body injury.

Braehead have had a solid run of results over the past couple of months, lifting themselves into eighth place in the league having spent much time in the bottom four but with an important brace of matches coming up this weekend – following Saturday’s home game against Edinburgh, the team travel to Dundee Stars on Sunday – the last thing head coach John Tripp needed was another injury setback. “It’s yet another addition to the ever-growing list of injuries we are accumulating” said Tripp, before issuing a rallying cry to his team and the Breahead fans. “However, this is the time we need to pull together, work hard, play for each other and we still have the quality to win games.

“We have two very important Gardiner Conference games coming up this weekend, with the Purple Army behind us as ever we can come away with two big wins.”
