ANDY MURRAY will begin his quest for a third Miami Open title today full of confidence.

A semi-final appearance in Indian Wells showed his best tennis is not far away - forget the margin of his defeat by Novak Djokovic - and in his adopted American city, fully fit and motivated, Murray might take some stopping again over the next 10 days.

The Scot opens his title bid against Donald Young today, which should bring back a few good recent memories after Britain's Davis Cup win over the United States in Glasgow.

Young was no match for Murray at The Emirates Arena, and although the American does have a win over the world No.4, that was in Indian Wells in one of Murray's post-Australian Open slumps.

Murray, of course, lost out in another Melbourne final to Djokovic, but the difference this time is that the two-time grand slam champion is improving all the time, and is focused on adding to his two major titles.

Should Murray make his way past Young, as expected, he could face Santiago Giraldo of Spain and Kevin Anderson of South Africa before Stan Wawrinka and, perhaps, world No.3 Rafa Nadal await en route to the final.
