Junior tennis player Ewan Moore from Kilmarnock has progressed to the quarter-finals of the U16 boys' singles tournament at the Nike Junior Tennis Championships after defeating Luke Purser 6-4, 6-3 at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
The Nike Junior Tennis Championships are the highest level competition for all juniors and the pinnacle of the summer domestic calendar. The tournament features more than 250 players across four age groups and is a showcase for British tennis and the best junior talent in the country.
Having run for over 100 years, the tournament has an illustrious line of past winners including Andy Murray, Heather Watson, Tim Henman, Elena Baltacha, and Anne Keothavong.
Ewan will now face London's Ben Jones in the quarter-finals which take place on Wednesday, August 20.
The tournament ends on Friday, August 22.
