JELLICLE BALL can make some amends for her 1000 Guineas flop by claiming Listed glory in the Bibendum Height of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood.

John Gosden's charge was pretty well fancied for Classic glory at Newmarket having supplemented her Kempton juvenile win with a fine second in the Fred Darling at Newbury in April.

However, she failed to fire at all at Headquarters, breaking slowly and struggling to get back in the mix before jockey William Buick called it a day and let her ease home 12th of the 13 runners.

Given Tiggy Wiggy finished behind Jellicle Ball at Newbury but some way in front at Newmarket, it must have been disappointing for her team, although they suggested the quick ground was not ideal and it later transpired she may have been in season.

Jellicle Ball steps up in trip to an extended nine furlongs here and while her sire Invincible Spirit tends to produce more speedy types, there is plenty of stamina on the dam's side which should help her see out the trip.

She still holds an in the entry in the Oaks and if she is to take up that Epsom engagement, Gosden will be looking for a good run here.

Saucy Minx posted what was arguably a career-best effort when winning at Salisbury earlier in the month and she can go on again in the winnerevents.com Stakes.

The five-year-old looked as though she could take even higher order in the future as she edged out Ishiamber by a neck, with the handicapper also taking that view as he has hiked her up by 6lb.

Clearly she will have to go on again to defy that rise but Saucy Minx appears to have found her stride now.

Brian Meehan clearly thinks Critical Risk is capable of defying a 6lb penalty as he turns him out again quickly in the Waterloo Handicap at Sandown.

A two-length winner at Doncaster just over a week ago, Critical Risk shrugged off a tardy start to win in fine style and should go on again from the outing.

Dubai Dynamo is another who makes a swift reappearance in Ayr's Tennent's Lager Handicap fresh from his handicap success at Ripon last weekend.

The 10-year-old was a popular winner for Ruth Carr and she feels it is worth going to the well again under a penalty.

Heartsong is the pick in the 32Red Casino Handicap at Nottingham, while Descaro can strike in the Racing UK Anywhere Selling Hurdle at Wetherby.
