Basket at buzzer sees Rocks tame the Lions

BASKETBALL: The Glasgow Rocks defeated the London Lions 69-66 last night – with a last-second basket proving decisive.

The win came after EJ Harrison, the Rocks' top scorer with 17 points, sank a three-point basket on the buzzer to help his side beat the Lions for the third time this term.

FORMULA ONE: Mark Webber insists he will be a contender for the 2013 world title after his Red Bull team unveiled its car for the upcoming season.

He said: "I believe I can have a crack at the championship. That is my goal and what I think about each day."

TENNIS: Holders Czech Republic moved into the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup after defeating Switzerland 3-1.

Italy are also through after a 3-2 win over Croatia.

ICE HOCKEY Braehead Clan lost 5-2 away to the Edinburgh Capitals, with Steve Birnstill and Robert Farmer finding the net for the visitors.

CRICKET: England wicket-keeper Matt Prior and all-rounder Ravi Bopara, plus Ireland batsman Kevin O'Brien, all failed to attract bids at the auction for this year's Indian Premier League.
