Braehead Clan captain Matt Keith insists there are many positives to take from the season - despite going out of the play-offs.

Clan went down 5-4 on aggregate after overtime to Hull Stingrays, denying a trip to the play-off finals in Nottingham next weekend.

But Keith believes the future at the club is bright, even though the men in purple won't be gracing the ice of the NIC.

He said: "It's a mood of disappointment and it's a long season where we battled hard and it hasn't gone in our favour.

"The only thing you can say is that's tough at the end of the season, but we have to try and build off on the positives we've made here at Braehead and go from there.

"Anything can happen in a two-game series and the late goal by Hull on Saturday certainly gave them the momentum.

"That said, you can look at the two games and pick out certain other things. For example, if I'd scored the penalty shot in the first leg, it would be a 4-1 game instead of what happened.

"The big positive is having a coach like Ryan Finnerty and you can tell how much it rips him apart when we lose and that's a big thing for everyone to build on.

"Losing out on the play-offs and the league can help you in the future and a little of bad can become a little bit of good later.

"We've had unbelievable support all year from our fans and the organisation is going in the right direction so those are definite positives there."
