CHRIS FRANK says Braehead Clan will use this weekend's Aladdin Cup to measure their progress over the summer break.
Italian champions Asiago provide the opposition at the Braehead Arena tonight and tomorrow over two legs in Clan's first action of the campaign.
And with Belfast Giants coming to town in the Challenge Cup a week later, Frank admits it's a chance to see how ready they are for the test ahead.
He said: "It's going to be really exciting and it's a great thing for the league.
"It will be great for the fans to see if we can compete against somebody from a league known for their speed and skill.
"It will be a good way to really test the waters to see where we are for this season. We just started skating together so I won't look too much into the results.
"But it will be good to get everyone on the ice and see where we need to go."
