Glasgow golfer Fraser Davren emerged as the top dog in round two of the Scottish Amateur Championship - after fearing he was barking up the wrong tree at Downfield.
The Williamwood teen beat Wayne Crole, of Blairgowrie, on the 19th hole of a tight tussle.
Davren blocked his drive on the first extra hole out right behind the trees. With his opponent safely in the middle of the fairway, the 17-year-old - who had been two-up with two to play before Crole fought back - had work to do to salvage the situation.
But he launched a 7-iron up and over the foliage and on to the green while his rival put his approach through the back of the putting surface.
Davren putted out for par and won the hole to set up a testing last 32 clash with five-times Downfield club champ Stewart Smith.
Haggs Castle man Barry Hume, the 2001 Scottish champion, continued his march with a 3 and 2 win over Anthony Blaney.
