Williamwood clubmates George Burns and Fraser Davren will be rivals today when they square up to each other in the second round of the Scottish Boys' Championship at West Kilbride.
The golfing teens, who helped Glasgow win the Scottish Boys' Area Team Championship for the first time in 21 years last season, both eased themselves over the first hurdle on the Ayrshire coast yesterday to set up a local derby match this afternoon.
Burns dumped Erskine's Matthew Sutherland 5 and 4 while his Scotland Under-18 team-mate Davren claimed a 4 and 3 victory over Gavin Petrie from Forfar.
Burns said: "I think we are both looking forward to the match. Fraser and myself joined Williamwood in 2006 and we've played a lot of junior golf together.
"We've played each other four times in matchplay and it's currently sitting at 2-2."
Bearsden's top seed Ewen Ferguson was a second round winner as he beat Ranfurly's Ross Robertson 4 and 3.
