Scott Jamieson has swapped Wembley for Gleneagles this week to join a huge tartan army competing in the Johnnie Walker Championship.
The Glasgow ace, one of 25 Scots involved in the PGA Centenary course shoot-out, tees-up in purposeful mood after a top-30 finish in the final Major of the year, the US PGA Championship a fortnight ago.
In between time, Jamieson took in the England v Scotland international match last Wednesday and the 29-year-old, boosted by his spirited showing at Oak Hill, is hoping to give the Scottish supporters something to shout about on the fairways this week.
Jamieson, a winner on the European Tour at the start of the season, said: "It's always nice to come to a tournament after a week off because you feel more prepared.
"I got a bit of confidence from the PGA, knowing that I can play in that environment against the best players in the world. I played well at times but it was noticeable to me that there are areas where I can improve. I find that encouraging, that I can finish in the top 30 of a Major and still feel like I wasn't really firing on all cylinders."
The Ryder Cup bandwagon rumbles into Perthshire next September while qualification for the 2014 clash begins at next week's Wales Open.
Jamieson, the world No.103, knows he faces an uphill battle to make the European team but the Scot is still eager to make a big push.
He said: "Obviously it would be a dream to play in any Ryder Cup, let alone one in your own country.
"A lot depends on how I play for the remainder of this year, that will affect my chance.
"If you are not in the top 50 come the turn of the year, you're not getting to play in the big events - and you need those to get the ranking points."
