Scott Jamieson wants another match-play masterclass this week to underline his Ryder Cup credentials.

The Glasgow golfer opens his challenge for the Volvo World Matchplay Championship at Thracian Cliffs in Bulgaria tomorrow with the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles on his mind.

Jamieson's last competitive matchplay outing was for GB&I during the Seve Trophy against the Continent of Europe in France two seasons ago.

On that occasion he showed his qualities with a vital one-hole win over Spain's Pablo Larrazabal. Jamieson's match was so pivotal GB&I skipper Paul McGinley walked the final few holes with the Scot.

McGinley is the new European skipper for next year's Cup and Jamieson wants to be a big hit in the Balkans to show the Irishman his worth.

Jamieson is now 90th in the world rankings and added: "Myself and the Scottish boys know we need to be close or in the top 50 at the start of next year to have a realistic chance. You dream about the Ryder Cup and when you get into the top 100, you realise it's not far away."
